This is an 5* PUCK-LINE DESTRUCTION on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
These teams meet up for a second straight game as Carolina would pull off the 4-2 victory in Columbus on Tuesday night. Columbus comes in desperate, it's lost six-straight, while Carolina comes in a bit complacent, after an 0-6-2 start the team has reeled off three straight victories. Tuesday's win bumped the Hurricanes past the Blue Jackets in the Metropolitan. While the Jackets will be without the services of defenseman Jack Johnson because of his illegal hit on Jiri Tlusty, the team will benefit from the return of James Wisniewski. One player to keep your eyes on today is Nick Foligno who has three goals and an assist in his last two games after returning from injury, posting points in eight of his last 11 games this year. Cam Ward has looked a lot better for the Hurricanes between the pipes after a shaky start to the season, but he's definitely been a "Jekyll and Hyde" goaltender the last few years. From a trend based stand point, this is also a very solid move, note that Columbus is already 3-1 (+2.6 units) this season in revenging a home loss vs. an opponent and 12-7 (+7.4 units) in the same position over the last two. And note that Carolina is a poor 8-9 (-2.4 units) in its last 17 when playing with two days of rest, and just 12-20 (-8.2 units) following a divisional contest. In a game which I feel will be decided late or in the Over Time frame, I have no problem laying this larger price for the extra 1.5 goals of insurance.
