I like the Calgary Flames on the road at Edmonton in the season opener. They're 20-8 in the last 28 meetings in Edmonton and the road team is 12-5 in the last 17 head-to-head meetings.
Calgary has had a decent offense in recent yars and it should improve on the other side of the ice now with former Blues' netminder Brian Elliott between the sticks. The Flames have strengthened their roster significantly during the off-season and also managed to hold on to left winger Johnny Gaudreau (30 goals, 48 assists last season). Edmonton's goaltender Cam Talbot finished in the bottom third of the league last season in GAA and save percentage and I think this will be another tough season for the Oilers.
