The Los Angeles Lakers head into Sunday's clash with the Phoenix Suns with a solid 3-3 record. That's particularly impressive as they've been a six-point underdog at a minimum in each game, and they're now favored for the first time of the young season for very good reasons.
The Lakers are coming off a stunning performance in a 117-97 win against Golden State, and I think they keep rolling here against the Suns. While it looks like a letdown spot for the Lakers, the same can be said about the Suns who are coming off back-to-back OT victories against Portland and New Orleans. The Lakers should be in a better spot though, home in LA and with plenty of talent ready to bust out after taking the backseat to the now retired Kobe Bryant. The Lakers are 5-1 ATS on the season, 2-0 SU and ATS home at Staples Center where they've averaged 118.5 points in wins against Golden State and Houston. I'm not ready to jump on the Lakers bandwagon completely just yet, but for this game I am.
