The A's turn to Chris Smith (0-3, 5.56 ERA) who was reached for five runs (four earned) in 4 1/3 innings of a 7-3 loss at Baltimore his last time out. The 36 year old right-hander has served up 11 homers in 43 2/3 innings of work on the season. The Angels are 11-4 in their last 15 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30 (Smith has a 1.33 WHIP on the year).

The Halos are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings at Anaheim.
