The Coach's NHL Sunday Sure Shot
(NHL) Arizona vs. Winnipeg,
Money Line: -225.00 Winnipeg (Home)
Result: Win
Money Line: -225.00 Winnipeg (Home)
Result: Win
The Arizona Coyotes opened an eight game road swing with a 3-1 defeat at Minnesota last night and have now dropped four straight overall and five of their last six. The Winnipeg Jets are coming off three consecutive wins, and thrashed the Panthers 8-2 the last time they played in front of their home fans. It's an expensive price, but the Jets are definitely worth it in this spot.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pale Coyotes - Arizona ranks near the bottom of the league for goals scored and has found the net only nine times over its last six games. Goals won't come easy tonight either, facing a Jets D that ranks near the top of the NHL conceding only 2.39 goals per game. The Jets have outscored opponents 14-5 over their last three games, so going by the numbers it is clear that the Coyotes are at a huge disadvantage at both ends of the rink.
2. Road Woes - The Coyotes have won seven games away from home all season and only one of their last six on the road. That lone win is hardly a feather in the hat either as it came against the Edmonton Oilers, one of few teams below the Coyotes in the standings.
3. X-Factor - Blake Wheeler is leading the Jets with 23 assists. He tallied two of those in the 4-2 win at Chicago two days ago and has two goals and one assist over the first two meetings with Arizona this season.
Selection: This is a play on the Winnipeg Jets (5*)
