The Toledo Rockets host the Kent State Golden Flashes on Friday in a clash between two of the better teams in the MAC. The Rockets have won six straight, while Kent State has lost three of it's last four overall. This is a revenge spot for Toledo who lost by a score of 67-60 at Kent State in January. The Rockets appear to be catching Kent State at a good time, and my money is on the home team.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Home Cookin' - Toledo boasts a 9-3 home record this season, and it's coming off an 84-60 victory over Eastern Michigan in it's last home game. The Golden Flashes are coming off a 61-52 loss at Akron, and they've lost three straight on the road.
2. Injuries - It's no wonder that the Golden Flashes are struggling in recent weeks, as they have been without their leading scorer Jimmy Hall who has missed the last three games. Hall is listed as out indefinitely with an illness. He's averaging 15.1 PPG, and he scored 32 points in his last start on the road, a 63-52 win at Ball State.
3. X-Factor - Julius Brown comes in feeling the hot hand, he's tallied 49 points on 17-of-25 shooting in his last two games.
Selection: This is a play on the Toledo Rockets (8*)
