The Coach's TEN STAR NHL Total MASSACRE!
(NHL) Anaheim vs. Calgary,
Total: 5.50 | 103.00 Over
Result: Loss
Total: 5.50 | 103.00 Over
Result: Loss
The Anaheim Ducks are coming into this contest looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses, but a win won't come easy tonight either as they visit a Pacific Division rival in the Calgary Flames. A winner is hard to call in this match-up, and I think we'll be in for a close low-scoring affair.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Situational/Motivational - This game is crucial for the Flames as they're currently third in the division, but tied on points with the chasing L.A. Kings. After back-to-back 6-3 losses in the series I expect them to keep it more compact and not give anything away for free here. This could prove to be a good spot to face a Ducks team that has tallied only three goals over two consecutive losses, and four of its last five games have failed to climb over the total.
2. The Ducks Special Teams - Anaheim may be one of the favorites to win the Presidents' Trophy, but it sure isn't thanks to its power play unit. The Ducks conversion rate of 16.8% ranks among the worst in the NHL and they're 0-for-15 on the man advantage over their last eight games. They're on the other hand not giving much away on the penalty kill either, and have surrendered only three goals over their last 25 shorthanded situations.
3. X-Factor - Kyle Palmieri has scored in each of the previous for meetings with the Flames this season, but he's coming in here ice cold. The 24 year old has failed to find the net over nine straight contests and mustered only one shot on goal in the 2-1 loss at San Jose Monday.
Selection: This is a play on the total to go UNDER (10*)
