Result: Win
Total: 5.50 | 110.00 Over
Result: Win
The St. Louis Blues opened a six game road trip by shutting out the Stars in a 3-0 win at Dallas Sunday. They're going for their fifth win in six games as they're coming to Calgary to take on the Flames Tuesday night. The hosts will be looking to bounce back from a 3-2 loss at Colorado, and with both teams looking to improve their position in the standings I think we're in for a tight low-scoring contest at the Saddledome tonight.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Brian Elliot - The Blues star netminder got some well deserved rest as Jake Allen tended the net Sunday. Elliot will be back between the pipes in Calgary tonight though, and he's been dominant on the road all season long posting a 2.08 GAA over 18 outings. He has won all of his last four starts against the Flames while conceding only one goal per game on average.
2. The Blues Penalty Kill - The Flames have lit up the lamp quite a bit of late, much thanks to a power play unit that is 7-for-23 over their last six games. It has been rather average over the season though, and my guess is it'll slip back into mediocrity tonight facing a Blues penalty kill that is 29-for-30 over its last nine games.
3. X-Factor - Only two of the last 10 meetings in the series have gone over the total, and the under is 5-2 in the Blues last seven on the road.
Selection: This is a play on STL@CGY to go under the total (10*)
