The Coach's NHL SURE SHOT
(NHL) Chicago vs. Carolina,
Money Line: -157.00 Chicago (Away)
Result: Win
Money Line: -157.00 Chicago (Away)
Result: Win
The Chicago Blackhawks are coming into this contest looking to bounce back from a 4-0 loss at Dallas Saturday. Visiting one of the worst teams in the NHL as ishould be as good of a spot as any of doing just that. Carolina has lost six of its last seven games, and lost the first meeting of the season 5-2 at Chicago. I think we can bank on the visitors to complete the sweep of the season series tonight.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Carolina's Offensive Woes - The Canes 2.25 goals per game average ranks among the worst marks in the NHL. They've been particularly poor of late, tallying 12 goals over their last seven games while getting shut out twice. Goals won't come easy tonight either against a Chicago team that had allowed eight goals in seven games before giving up four against the Stars its last time out.
2. Road Warriors - Chicago is an impressive 21-13-1 on the road for the season and has won four of its last five visiting a team with a losing home record. Carolina sure fits the bill here, as it has a lowly 15-14-6 record at PNC Arena where it has lost five straight.
3. X-Factor - Jonathan Toews has four goals and five assists so far in March and tallied one goal plus one assist the last time he was up against the Canes.
Selection: This is a play on the Chicago Blackhawks(8*)
