The Coach's NHL ICE BREAKER (13-2 run!)
(NHL) Winnipeg vs. Edmonton,
Money Line: -155.00 Winnipeg (Away)
Result: Win
Money Line: -155.00 Winnipeg (Away)
Result: Win
The Winnipeg Jets must enjoy their chances of extending a four game winning streak as they're visiting the Edmonton Oilers tonight. The hosts have opened a six game home-stand by claiming two out of three, but a pair of victories against the Maple Leafs and the Flyers don't impress much. Tonight's opponent is of a different breed, and Winnipeg should be able to "Jet" past the Oilers and sweep the season series with another win here.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Situational/Motivational - The Jets are still very much in contention to make the playoffs, currently holding the final wild card in the West with a four point gap down to the Kings in ninth. The same can not be said about the Oilers who own the third worst record in the NHL and already are looking forward to the next season.
2. Winnipeg's Diversity - Injuries to Bryan Little, Dustin Byfuglien and Mathieu Perreault have not halted the Jets push for a playoff spot. Blake Wheeler, Mark Scheifele and Drew Stafford have all stepped up and combined for 16 points over their last four game. Bryan Little, tied on the team for goals, could be making a comeback tonight boosting a team that has outscored opponents 12-4 over four consecutive wins.
3. X-Factor - The Jets have won four straight meetings in the series.
Selection: This is a play on the Winnipeg Jets (8*)
