Rogers' TNT Tuesday Night THROWDOWN!
(NBA) Golden State vs. Portland,
Point Spread: 5.50 | 100.00 Portland (Home)
Result: Loss
Point Spread: 5.50 | 100.00 Portland (Home)
Result: Loss
At this point it would be fair to say that if the Golden State Warriors want to beat the Blazers tonight, then they wouldn't have much trouble doing do. This might not be a great situation to back the Warriors as a road favorite though, coming off a laugher of a win at home against the Wizards last night. With a 7.5 game lead on the 2nd place Grizzlies at the top of the Western Conference, this is a pretty meaningless game for Golden State.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Home Cookin' - The Warriors have a pretty impressive road record of 23-11, but because they are constantly overrated they often fail to cover an inflated spread. They have only managed to get a cover in three of their last 12 away from Oakland.
2. Line Value - In my mind, last night's impressive showing only sets up the visitors for even more of a let down. That is evidenced by the fact that they've failed to cover in seven of their last 10 games coming off a double-digit win. The betting public obviously doesn't see it that way, as they've been bet up a few points after opening at -5.5.
3. X-Factor - Damian Lillard scored 27 points on 8-of-18 shooting in a losing effort Saturday, with several key players out for Portland Lillard should fill the stat sheet tonight.
Selection: This is a play on the Portland Trail Blazers (10*)
