The Coach's Wednesday NBA Trifecta
(NBA) Oklahoma City vs. San Antonio,
Point Spread: -7.50 | -107.00 San Antonio (Home)
Result: Win
Point Spread: -7.50 | -107.00 San Antonio (Home)
Result: Win
The defending champion Spurs came up short on the road at Dallas last night, but they had won 10 of 12 prior to that. They will be hosting Oklahoma City tonight, and the Thunder are also playing on back-to-back nights, coming off a 127-117 win over the Lakers last night. The Spurs will be asked to cover a large spread here, but I expect this game to be a one-sided affair.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Home Cookin' - The Spurs own a very impressive home record of 26-8, and they've covered the spread in four of their last five home games. The Thunder have a losing record on the road, and they've covered the spread just six times in their last 21 road games against teams with a winning record.
2. Injuries - Already without Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka, the Thunder lost guard Andre Roberson to a sprained ankle on Sunday. Nick Collison is also sidelined with an ankle injury.
3. X-Factor - The Spurs have averaged over 100 points on 52.3% shooting during a seven game home winning streak.
Selection: This is a play on the San Antonio Spurs (8*)
