The Washington Wizards overcame adversity in Game 3 of this series versus the #1 seed Atlanta Hawks, winning without PG John Wall who may be out for the remainder of the playoffs. The Wizards controlled the game through the first three quarters, but nearly allowed the Hawks to come from behind in the final frame. Paul Pierce delivered the knockout blow, a buzzer beating bank shot that put the Wizards up 2-1 in the series.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Home Cookin' - The Hawks have covered the spread just twice in their last nine visits to the nation's capital, while the Wizards are 4-0-2 ATS in their last six home games.
2. Shooting - Atlanta's style of play might work great during the regular season, but there is plenty of doubters out there that don't think they can be successful in the playoffs. When they start missing shots, they don't have anyone to turn to for easy buckets. Their starters shot just 37.5% (18-of-48) from the floor in Game 3.
3. X-Factor - The Hawks are 3-13-1 ATS in their last 17 Conference Semifinals games.
Selection: This is a play on the Washington Wizards (10*)
