The Coach's NHL Monday SURE SHOT - TB@MTL
(NHL) Montreal vs. Tampa Bay,
Money Line: -151.00 Tampa Bay (Home)
Result: Win
Money Line: -151.00 Tampa Bay (Home)
Result: Win
The Tampa Bay Lightning took a three-game lead in this series and looked like they would get a gruesome revenge for last season's post-season when the Montreal Canadiens swept them over four games. The Habs have got two back since, but I expect the Lightning to close out the series and advance to the Conference finals with a home-win tonight.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Back To Business - It's not too surprising that the Lightning have shown less urgency than their counterpart over recent games with Montreal getting in do-or-die mode and Tampa Bay cruising. Tampa Bay can not afford to let the Habs get any closer though, and a deciding game at Montreal would put it in a horrible spot. The Lightning have shown throughout the season that when on song and motivated they're the better team than the Canadiens. It's time to get back to business and start doing the dirty work again.
2. Situational - Tampa Bay had the NHL's best home record during the regular season and has won four of its last five playing on two days of rest while the Habs have failed to win any of their last five in the same situation.
3. X-Factor - The Lightning did get a chance on the man-advantage in Game 5 after going 5-for-14 in the previous three contests. We can expect more power-play opportunities home at Amalie Arena tonight with a rowdy home-crowd putting pressure on the referees to favor the Lightning.
Selection: This is a play on the Tampa Bay Lightning (8*)
