Point Spread: 1.50 | 210.00 Philadelphia (Home)
Result: Win
The Philadelphia Philles are coming into this contest on the back of three consecutive wins as they won the opener of a three game set at Citizens Bank Park against the Arizona D'Backs 4-3 last night. Arizona has lost three of its last four and I'm backing the hosts in tonight's contest as well.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The D'Backs will hand the ball to Archie Bradley (2-0, 1.80 ERA) who will make his first start since being struck in the face by a line drive on April 28. He has surrendered four runs on nine hits over 20 innings so far on the year but has shown control-issues yielding no less than 11 walks already. The Phillies will counter with Jerome Williams (2-3, 5.21 ERA) who is a solid 2-1 with a 3.43 ERA home in Philadelphia on the season. He took the loss as the Phillies fell 4-3 against Pittsburgh his last start when he gave up three runs on four hits over five innings. It's worth noting that all three runs were scored on a three run homer though.
2. Unreliable Favorites - The Diamondbacks are 0-6 in their last six games as a road favorite while the Phillies are 4-1 in Williams' last five starts as a home underdog.
3. X-Factor - Arizona's bullpen owns a 5.95 ERA so far this season, the worst mark in the majors.
Selection: This is a play on the Philadelphia Phillies +1.5. (8*)
