The New York Rangers are on the verge of elimination for the fourth time in this playoffs after suffering a 2-0 defeat home at MSG Sunday. They were down 3-1 to the Capitals in the conference semifinals only to pull a rabbit out of their hat winning three consecutive games. I think they're about to run out of luck at Amalie Arena tonight and that we'll see the Lightning advance to the Stanley Cup finals.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. The Lightning's Surging Offense - Tampa Bay has scored 16 goals in this series and Steven Stamkos is on fire with goals over the last four games. The "Triplets" (Tyler Johnson, Ondrej Palat and Nikita Kucherov) have combined for 25 of Tampa Bay's 45 post-season goals, and although they left the ice goal-less Sunday it's clear that they're wreaking havoc in the Rangers zone with their speed an tenacity whenever taking the ice.
2. Situational - The Lightning have won seven of the last nine meetings and are 7-3 in their last eight games playing on one days rest.
3. X-Factor - The Lightning are 8-0 this post-season when scoring the first goal, and we can expect them to take the game to the Rangers here in front of frantic home-fans.
Selection: This is a play on the Tampa Bay Lightning (10*)
