1* free play on the St. Louis Cardinals...
The St. Louis Cardinals own the best record in the major leagues, and they've won consecutive games here in L.A., and six of their last seven versus the Dodgers. Despite the fact that the Cardinals have been the Dodger's kryptonite, they are an enormous underdog here in tonight's game.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - Clayton Kershaw will be on the hill for the Dodgers, but he's been having an off season by his standards. Kershaw (4-3, 3.73 ERA) has won his last two starts, but he's had more trouble with St. Louis than any other team in baseball. He's 1-7 with a 5.69 ERA in his last nine starts versus the Cardinals (incl. post-season). The Cardinals counter with Jaime Garcia, who lost to the Brewers in his last start, despite allowing just one run over seven innings.
2. Cardinals Bullpen - Only the Royals have a better bullpen than St. Louis, as their relievers own a National League best 2.09 ERA.
3. X-Factor - The Dodgers have only won three of the last 10 in this series, and two of those wins came in one-run ballgames.
