The Padres rallied in the top of the ninth to tie the game in series opener in Atlanta, and went on to beat the Braves by a score of 5-3 in extra-innings. The Braves returned the favor last night, but I don't like their chances here in Game 3.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - Tyson Ross will be on the hill for the visitors, and he was a winner in his last start. Ross (3-5, 3.75 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on five hits while fanning seven in five innings in a win at Cincinnati. The Braves counter with Williams Perez, who is coming off his worst start of the season in a loss to Pittsburgh.
2. The Braves Bullpen - It was Jason Grilli that cost the Braves the win in Game 1, and their bullpen ranks dead last in the majors with an ERA of 4.90.
3. X-Factor - San Diego has been the lowest scoring team in baseball for years, but not this year. The Padres rank 5th overall with 259 runs scored.
Selection: This is a play on the San Diego Padres (10*)
