The Detroit Tigers host the Cleveland Indians at Comerica Park tonight, and we could expect a pitcher's duel in this one. The Tigers will hand the ball to their ace, but Cleveland has been the hotter team of late, and they also send a hot pitcher to the mound. I'll take the visitors on the runline.
Here are my keys to e the game:
1. Pitching - David Price will get the nod for the Tigers, coming off a complete game in his last start. Price (5-2, 2.70 ERA) gave up a run on five hits over nine innings in a win at Chicago. His numbers are actually better on the road than they are in Detroit. The Indians counter with Danny Salazar, who comes in with better numbers than price. Salazar (6-1, 3.50 ERA) gave up a single run on six hits, racking up 11 Ks in a win over the Orioles in his last outing.
2. Jason Kipnis - The Indians slugger had the day off yesterday, but he and his hot bat are expected to return tonight. He's among the league leaders hitting .333 with five home runs and 27 RBIs this season.
3. X-Factor - The Indians have won eight of their last 10 road games, while Detroit is 3-9 overall in it's last 12.
Selection: This is a play on the Cleveland Indians +1.5 (8*)
