1* free play on the Toronto Blue Jays...
The Blue Jays bats were silenced by Clay Buchholz in Game 1 of this three game set at Rogers Center, but the highest scoring team in baseball will try to bounce back at home tonight. Toronto has still won 11 of it's last 15 home games, while the Red Sox are 18-23 on the road. I like the home team with a more experienced starter on the mound tonight.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - Marco Estrada will be on the mound for the Jays, and he's been on top form of late. Estrada (5-3, 3.45 ERA) has only given up a single run on three hits, striking out 16 batters in 15.2 innings in his last two appearances. He's now 4-0 with a 2.94 ERA in five starts in June. The Red Sox will counter with rookie left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez, who allowed six runs on seven hits over just 3.1 innings in a loss to Baltimore in his last start.
2. Josh Donaldson - He's not only leading the All Star voting, he has the most votes of any player in history since fan voting was introduced. Bad news for Rodriguez, as Donaldson is feasting on southpaws, hitting .396 for the season.
3. X-Factor - Rodriguez was hammered by the Jays in Boston a few weeks ago, giving up nine runs on eight hits and three walks in just 4.12 innings.
