The Coach's MLB Heavy Hitter - (Bigtime Blowout Potential)
(MLB) Colorado vs. Arizona,
Money Line: -155.00 Arizona (Home)
Result: Win
Money Line: -155.00 Arizona (Home)
Result: Win
The Colorado Rockies have lost five of their first first seven of a 10-game road-trip and dropped the opener of a four-game set at Arizona 8-1 last night. They're a notoriously poor road-team and are likely to struggle at Chase Field tonight as well.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The D'backs will hand the ball to Chase Anderson (4-2, 3.66 ERA) who's coming off two disappointing starts on the road surrendering a total of 12 runs on 13 hits and six homers in 11 2/3 frames at San Diego and Colorado. He's otherwise been solid this season allowing three runs or less in all but four of his 15 starts and he's 1-1 with a 3.25 ERA home at Chase Field. The Rockies will counter with Kyle Kendrick (3-10, 6.07 ERA) who's been roughed up all season long. He's conceded four runs or more in all but two of his last eight starts and is one of only three qualifying pitchers with an ERA over 6.00 this season.
2. Recent Meetings - Arizona has won six of nine in the season-series while averaging 7.6 runs per game.
3. X-Factor - The Rockies have won only five of their last 55 games as an underdog of +151 to +200 and they're 2-8 in Kendrick's last 10 starts as an underdog.
Selection: This is a play on the Arizona Diamondbacks (8*)
