Rogers' 10* Coach's Clinic
(MLB) LA Angels vs. Colorado,
Money Line: 122.00 Colorado (Home)
Result: Loss
Money Line: 122.00 Colorado (Home)
Result: Loss
The surging Los Angeles Angels are coming into this contest as winners of seven of their last eight, but I think they'll open this two-game series at Coors Field with a loss. The Colorado Rockies stopped a four-game slide with a 6-4 win at Arizona Sunday and should be well motivated to open this six-game home-stand leading up to the All Star break with a win.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Angels hand the ball to Andrew Heany (1-0, 1.38 ERA) who'll make his third start of the year tonight. Both of his previous were back home at Anaheim and he conceded 14 runs on 19 hits in a total of 14 1/3 innings away from home with Miami in his debut season last year. The Rockies will counter with Chad Bettis (4-3, 3.67 ERA) who's been solid home at Coors Field going 2-1 with a 2.84 ERA in five starts and he held Milwaukee to one run in 6 1/3 innings his last turn in front of the home-fans.
2. Barking Dogs - The Rockies have won six of their last seven coming in as and underdog of +110 to +150 and they're 4-1 in Bettis' last five starts as an underdog in the same span.
3. X-Factor - Troy Tulowitzki is riding an 18 game hitting streak with a .371 batting average.
Selection: This is a play on the Colorado Rockies (10*)
