The New York Mets picked up their fourth win in their last five games last night when they defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-2 home at Citi Field. I like the D'backs chances of claiming game 2 of this three-game set today though, or at the very least keep it a close game.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Mets will hand the ball to Matt Harvey (7-6, 3.11 ERA) who's winless in his last three starts. He conceded three runs on seven hits and a season-high five walks over five innings of a 4-3 loss against the Dodgers his last start and has a 3.44 ERA in three career starts against the D'backs. Arizona will counter with Patrick Corbin (1-0 , 3.60 ERA) who'll make his second start of the season since returning from Tommy John surgery. He conceded two runs on eight hits with no walks over five innings of a 7-3 win against Colorado in his season-debut a week ago.
2. Situational - The Mets have lost 10 of their last 12 game 2 of a series and they're 1-5 in their last six when their opponent scores two runs or less in their previous game. The D'backs meanwhile are 8-3 in their last 11 games following a loss and 5-1 in their last six after scoring two runs or less in their previous game.
3. X-Factor - The D'backs are 25-17 against the run line away from home this season.
Selection: This is a play on the Arizona Diamondbacks +1.5 (8*)
