1* free play on the Tigers@Twins OVER...
The Detroit Tigers have now seen the total go over in 21 of their last 22 Games. It's apparently the most profitable trend in recent sports wagering history, and it seems unlikely that it will end any time soon. The Tigers were throttled 9-5 yesterday, and they send another struggling starter to the mound on Sunday afternoon.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - Shane Greene will get the call for the visitors, and he's coming off a stint in Triple-A. Greene (4-6, 5.82 ERA) allowed five runs on seven hits in three innings in a 12-3 loss to the Cubs his last time out. He's been roughed up in his last four big league starts, giving up 22 runs in 14.2 innings in those games. The Twins counter with Kyle Gibson, who is 0-1 with a 5.92 ERA in two starts against the Tigers this year.
2. Batter vs. Pitcher - Yoenis Cespedes is 5-for-10 with a home run and four RBIs in the series so far, and he's 3-for-5 lifetime versus Gibson.
3. X-Factor - The Tigers lead the league with 33 home runs in 19 games since June 21. That's an average of almost two per game.
Selection: This is a play on the Tigers@Twins to go OVER the total (10*)
