The Detroit Tigers have now seen the total go over in 23 of their last 26 Games. It's apparently the most profitable trend in recent sports wagering history, and it seems unlikely that it will end any time soon. The Tigers were throttled 9-3 yesterday, and they send another struggling starter to the mound on Monday night.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Tigers will send Alfredo Simon to the mound, and he's been crushed in each of his last five outings. Simon (8-6, 4.53 ERA) failed to get out of the third inning, allowing seven runs on 10 hits in a loss to the Twins prior to the break. The Mariners will counter with J.A. Happ, who was rocked for four runs on seven hits in four innings against the Tigers in his last start.

2. Batter vs. Pitcher - Robinson Cano in batting .317 with four home runs and 10 RBIs in July, and he's 4-for-9 lifetime versus Simon.

3. X-Factor - These two teams have trended toward the over at a rate of 9-2-1 in the last 12 meetings in Detroit.
