Result: Win
Point Spread: 1.50 | -145.00 Philadelphia (Away)
Result: Win
The San Diego Padres are coming off four straight losses and have won just one one of their last six. The Philadelphia Phillies defeated them 4-3 last night and I would not be surprised to see the Phillies record another upset Saturday.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Padres hand the ball to Tyson Ross (8-8, 3.37) who's coming off a pair of road-wins yielding four runs (three earned) on nine hits and six walks over 11 innings of work. He's just 3-5 with a 4.47 ERA home at San Diego for the year though and he's 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in four career appearances against the Phillies who can counter with left-hander Adam Morgan (2-3, 4.46 ERA). He held Toronto to two runs in six innings of a 3-2 win his last road-start and San Diego has a lowly .227 batting average against southpaws on the year.
2. Previous History - The Phillies have won 50 of the last 72 meetings overall and have been successful at Petco Park winning 36 of the last 53 meetings there.
3. X-Factor - Each of Philadelphia's four runs scored last night was solo homers.
Selection: This is a play on the Philadelphia Phillies +1.5 (8*)
