(MLB) Toronto vs. NY Yankees,
Point Spread: 1.50 | -160.00 Toronto (Away)
Result: Win
Point Spread: 1.50 | -160.00 Toronto (Away)
Result: Win
The Toronto Blue Jays have won seven in a row and 10 of their last 11. They've outscored the New York Yankees 8-1 over the first two games in this series and are coming into this contest looking to move just 1.5 games back of the AL East-leading Bronx Bombers with another win tonight.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Yankees hand the ball to Masahiro Tanaka (8-4, 3.84 ERA) who has a 5.01 ERA over his last eight starts. He's given up six homers in his last four outings and that does not bode well against this hard-hitting Blue Jays team who can counter with Marco Estrada (9-6, 3.40 ERA) who has posted a 2.50 ERA in his last nine starts. The 32 year old right-hander has been dominant in day-games this season going 3-0 with a 2.65 ERA over eight outings (five starts).
2. The Blue Jays Bats - Not only have the Blue Jays scored a major leagues-best 595 runs on the year, they've scored 45 over their last seven games for a 6.43 average with 16 homers over the same span.
3. X-Factor - Edwin Encarnacion is 5-for-10 with a double and a homer off Tanka in previous meetings. He's swung a hot bat of late as well hitting .400 during a season-high 11-game hitting streak.
Selection: This is a play on the Toronto Blue Jays +1.5 (8*)
