Point Spread: -1.50 | 103.00 LA Dodgers (Away)
Result: Win
The Dodgers came into Anaheim as winners of nine of their previous 11, and they swept the Angels in a three game series in LA in the beginning of August. With ace Clayton Kershaw on the mound in Game 2 on Tuesday, I think the Dodgers should win easily. I'll take LA on the runline.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - Kershaw (12-6, 2.18 ERA) went the distance, allowing one run and striking out 15 batters in a 2-1 home win over the Giants in his last outing. He's now racked up a whopping 39 Ks in his last three starts. The Angels counter with rookie right-hander Andrew Heaney, who lost to the Dodgers in LA on August 1. He allowed a pair of runs on four hits in 5.1 innings in that game.
2. Mike Trout - The Angels slugger has really cooled off in the second half, batting just 2.69 since the All Star break. He hit a dozen home runs in July, and just two since.
3. X-Factor - The Halos rank dead last in the major leagues batting just .234 in the second half of the season. Albert Pujols struggled aren't helping, he's hitting just .222 over the last seven days, and just .230 since the All Star break.
Selection: This is a play on the LA Dodgers RL -1.5 (10*)
