New York Mets (6*)
(MLB) LA Dodgers vs. NY Mets,
Money Line: -180.00 NY Mets (Home)
Result: Win
Money Line: -180.00 NY Mets (Home)
Result: Win
The New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers are coming off an off day after splitting the first two games of this NLDS at Dodger Stadium. The Mets will be fired up after a late slide by Chase Utley that broke Ruben Tejada's right leg, and I like them as a home-favorite here Monday.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Mets hand the ball to Matt Harvey (13-8, 2.71 ERA) who was 8-3 with a 2.23 ERA over 17 starts home at Citi Field in the regular-season. He was 1-1 in two meetings with the Dodgers but held them to two runs on six hits in seven frames of a 15-2 home-win on July 25. The Dodgers counter with Brett Anderson (10-9, 3.69 ERA) who was lit up for six runs on 10 hits over just four innings at Coors Field his last road start. He'll make his first career start against the Mets but Curtis Granderson is 5-for-12 in previous meetings with the left-hander.
2. Home Cookin' - The Mets were a solid 49-32 home at Citi Field during the regular-season and they're 11-5 in their last 16 playoff home games. The Dodgers on the other hand are win-less over their last six playoff road games.
3. X-Factor - Already mentioned Utley is one the Dodgers hitters with most experience against Harvey going 6-for-18 in previous meetings but he will be suspended for Games 3 and 4 of this series.
Selection: This is a play on the New York Mets (6*)
