*6* play on the Montreal Canadiens.
The Montreal Canadiens are boasting the best record in the NHL with 10 wins and only two losses for the season. The two defeats came at Vancouver and Edmonton this week but they wrapped up a three-game Canadian road-trip with a 6-2 win at Calgary Friday. The Winnipeg Jets won 3-2 at Columbus last night but I don't like their chances of picking up another win here at Bell Centre the very next day.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Montreal On A Roll - The Canadiens rank within the top five in each of the four big categories (goals per game, goals against, power play, penalty kill). In previous season's their offensive production has let them down, but that has not been the case this season as they're averaging a second-best 3.8 goals per game. Five players have recorded 10 points or more, which can be compared to the Jets who only have two players who have broken the 10-point mark so far.
2. Home Cookin' - The Canadiens are a perfect 4-0-0 with a 15-4 goal-differential at home at Bell Centre this season. They've won 21 of the last 28 when hosting the Jets.
3. X-Factor - Dale Weise recorded his first career hat trick in Friday's 6-2 win at Calgary. He has six goals and two assists over his 12 games this season.
Selection: This is a play on the Montreal Canadiens (6*)
