*10* TOTAL DOMINATION on UNDER Patriots/Giants.
The New England Patriots just keep winning, and they look better every week. Their defense doesn't get as much credit as their offense, but they've held their last two opponents to a combined 17 points. The bookmakers are calling for a shootout here in New York, but my money is on the under with an inflated total.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Previous History - These teams have seen the total go under in seven of nine head to head meetings, and both meetings since the Giants upset the Pats in the 2008 Super Bowl. The Giants have had success slowing down the Patriots offense in recent history, winning three straight in the series. Tom Coughlin is 5-1 versus Bill Belichick.
2. Jason Pierre-Paul - The leagues' worst pass rush got a boost with the return of Jason Pierre-Paul last week, who played for the first time since suffering a hand injury. He didn't pick up any sacks last week, but did look pretty effective. He comes into this game full of confidence, saying: "They're undefeated, but they have to come through here first,". He's likely going to make Tom Brady's life difficult in this game.
3. X-Factor - The Patriots run defense ranks first in the NFL allowing opponents to average under 90 rushing yards per game.
Selection: This is a play on the Pats@Giants to go UNDER the total (10*)
