The UCLA Bruins will host the Pepperdine Waves on Thursday night, and the home favorite looks vulnerable after losing it's opener at home to Monmouth. The Bruins followed that up with an 88-83 win over Cal Poly, but they are asked to cover a bunch of points against a good Pepperdine team tonight. My money is on the dog plus the points.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Previous History - Pepperdine comes in shooting the ball well, hitting 58.2 percent from the field, and 60 percent from three-point range in their last game.

2. Turnovers - The Bruins have turned the ball over 34 times in their first two games of the season. Coach Steve Alford knows this is an area that needs improvement: "I hammered those guards over the last forty-eight hours," Alford said. "We've got to develop that kind of consistency."

3. X-Factor - The Bruins are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 versus the West Coast Conference, while the Wavers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 versus the PAC12.
