*8* Pinstripe Bowl SIDE WINNER on Indiana.
The 6-6 Indiana Hooisers and the Duke Blue Devils will meet in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl in New York on Boxing Day. The Blue Devils had more wins (7), but Duke faded down the stretch while Indiana closed the season with back-to-back road wins to become bowl eligible. My money is on the Hoosiers.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Indiana's Offense - The Hoosiers led the BIG10 in total yards, averaging just shy of 500 yards per game. Quarterback Nate Sudfeld threw for 755 yards and eight TDs on 41-of-64 passing in his last two starts.
2. Strength of Schedule - While Duke has the better record, Indiana had a much tougher schedule. They played three teams ranked in the Top 10, losing close games to Iowa, Ohio State and Michigan State. They also forced overtime in a 48-41 loss to a very strong Michigan team.
3. X-Factor - The Blue Devils will not have leading tackler, and ACC Defensive Player of the Year Jeremy Cash, who is sidelined after having surgery on an injured wrist.
Selection: This is a play on the Indiana Hoosiers (8*)
