*10* TOTAL SURE SHOT on UNDER Rockets/Lakers.
Two struggling teams will take the floor Thursday night when the Los Angeles Lakers will host the Houston Rockets home at Staples Center. Houston is off a pair of losses while Los Angeles ended a six-game losing streak Tuesday. Odds are we'll see a tight low-scoring game between two sides that both must fancy their chances of picking up a rare win.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Situtional - The Rockets lost 107-97 at Sacramento Tuesday and the under is 4-1 in their last five games following a straight up loss. The Lakers meanwhile are coming off a 113-95 win against the Bucks Tuesday and the under is 6-1 in their last seven after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game and 8-3 in their last 11 games playing on one day of rest.
2. Kobe Bryant - The Lakers' superstar is off a pair of decent games with a total of 47 points and 12 assists spread out over 58 minutes. He's struggled with consistency this season though, and I think he's due for a stinker tonight.
3. X-Factor - Los Angeles has the worst field goal percentage in the league with just 41.4%.
Selection: This is a play on the Rockets@Lakers to go UNDER the total (10*)
