*5* SURE SHOT on LA Kings.
The Los Angeles Kings are coming into this game with the third best record in the NHL, and I see no reason why they wouldn't pick up an easy win against one of the worst teams in the NHL as they host the Philadelphia Flyers today.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Keep Rollin' - The Kings are off a perfect 4-0 road-trip through which they outscored opponents by a total of 18-6. It's not a stretch to assume they'll carry that momentum back home to Staples Center where they've won six of their last seven match-ups.
2. Goaltending - The Kings' netminder Jonathan Quick is 10-3-0 with a 1.98 GAA at home since Oct. 16 and he has compiled a 1.88 GAA in 10 career meetings with Philadelphia. The Flyers' Steve Mason on the other hand has surrendered a total of 11 goals in his last three starts alone, and he's not getting much help from a defense that's giving opponents plenty of opportunities to test him.
3. X-Factor - Los Angeles' Tyler Toffoli has six goals and two assists during a five-game point streak.
Selection: This is a play on the Los Angeles Kings (5*)
