The Vancouver Canucks are desperate to put an end to a four game home losing skid, and they host a Minnesota team Monday that has lost 13 of it's last 14 overall. My money is on Vancouver as the home dog.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Previous History - The Wild have really struggled in previous trips to Vancouver, losing 12 of their last 15 at Rogers Arena. The home team has prevailed in 20 of the last 28 meetings in this series.
2. Situational/Motivational - Minnesota's losing streak cost head coach Mike Yeo his job, as he was let go following Saturday's loss. "We had some good meetings last week in St. Louis and I really like the way we played the three subsequent games, and then (Saturday) we took a step back. So I made the decision after the game to let Mike go." said Cliff Fletcher.
3. X-Factor - Minnesota's season was saved last year when they acquired Devan Dubnyk. The 29 year old had been a bust in Edmonton and Arizona, but he was a brick wall for half a season in Minnesota. It's no surprise to see him come crashing back down to earth, as he has a career GAA of 2.64.
