The Washington Capitals are the top team in the NHL, sitting 11 points clear of second place Chicago. The Caps are coming off a 3-2 loss at Chicago on Sunday, but I like them to bounce back at home tonight. My money is on the Caps as the big favorite.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Previous History - The Caps have won 10 of their last 13 overall, and a staggering 44 of their last 59. They are the highest scoring team in the NHL, and they also boast the league's most potent power-play, converting on 23.7 percent of their chances.

2. Home Cookin' - The Caps are 24-5-2 at the Verizon Center this season, and starting goaltender Braden Holtby has an unbelievable record of 21-2-1 with a 2.12 GAA on home ice. He has a 1.35 GAA and two shutouts in his last six against Pittsburgh.

3. X-Factor - The Penguins are 3-8 in their last 11 games playing on 0 days rest.
