10* NON-CONFERENCE GAME OF THE MONTH on the Boston Celtics.
The Boston Celtics snapped a two-game skid with a 109-106 win at Golden State Friday, the first road team to win there since January last year. The Los Angeles Lakers are also coming off a win after defeating the Miami Heat 102-100 in overtime Wednesday, but I think they'll be back to their losing ways against the buzzing Celtics today.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Situational - The Lakers are 11-27 straight up at home this season and the Celtics are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games against a team with a losing home record. Don't expect Wednesday's win against Miami to work in the Lakers favor either as the team is 6-15 ATS in its last 21 games following a straight up win.
2. Motivational - The Celtics clinched a playoff spot with Friday's win, but they're currently fifth in the conference only 1/2 game back of third placed Charlotte. Don't expect the Celtics to slow down anytime soon as they'll want as good of a seed as possible.
3. X-Factor - This contest will mark the end of a five-game road-trip for the Celtics and they're 6-1 ATS after playing three consecutive road games this season.
Selection: This is a play on the Boston Celtics (10*)
