Total: 12.50 | -105.00 Under
Result: Loss
The Padres split their home series with the Rockies, their only 2 losses in their last 10 games. Today’s starter Gore (2.50 ERA) gave up more runs vs. Colorado than he did in the entire month of May. (6 runs/2+innings). Previous to that, he had a pair of 6 and 7 inning shutouts.
The Rockies were just swept by the Guardians. Their bats were relatively quiet in that series; the Rockies are 4th in offense when batting at home. Lefty Freeland starts for the home team. He was up and down in April and May, but has bounced back in June, with a pair of quality starts.
I am looking at the total today. Gore doesn’t give up the long ball and will look to bounce back after his worst outing of the year. Freeland has pitched well lately, and both bullpens have been sharp. The total is high even by Colorado standards, and contrary to what they showed vs. a poor Cubs pitching staff, the Padres are not a dominant hitting squad. Take the under today.
