The Royals scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to beat the Brewers 3-2 yesterday. They are finding ways to win and never stop fighting until they do. “These guys just don’t quit,” Kansas City manager Matt Quatraro said. “I wish I could put my finger on it and say, ‘Let’s do that in the first.’ But for whatever reason, the game gets later and they come through.”
Ragans, who started for the Royals yesterday, said this of his teammates: “Relentless. They keep going until somebody makes a mistake and then they make you pay. It’s fun to watch.”
Rea has been good for Milwaukee but Lugo has been even better for Kansas City. He's 5-1 with a 1.60 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP. Lugo also has the far better career numbers. He's 45-32 with a 3.37 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. Rea is 17-14 with a 4.52 ERA and 1.28 WHIP. Lugo goes deep into games. He's gone at least 6 complete innings in 9 of his last 10 starts, 5.33 in the other. He's gone 7 complete in each of his last 2. I'm going with the Royals as my May IL GOM!
