This San Diego team doesn't quit though and is playing its best baseball. Yesterday, they were at a disadvantage in the starting pitching area so they went out and scored 9 runs to win 9-7. That's 6 wins in 7 games. The San Diego bats are red hot. This afternoon, the Padres also have the pitching matchup in their favor. Herz is a 23-year old rookie with only one career road start. He gave up 3 home runs in less than 4 innings last start.
