This is a 10* TOTAL BIG TIGER on the OVER between the Toronto Raptors and the Charlotte Hornets.
We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. This particular play is based primarily on strong/relative O/U ATS statistics and common sense:
As note that Toronto has seen the total go OVER the number in six of ten already this year following a win by ten points or more and in seven of 12 against teams with losing records, while Charlotte has seen the total go OVER the number in two of its last three after playing three consecutive home games.
The bottom line: The Hornets have just three wins in their last ten games, but broke a three-game slide with a 109-91 rout of the Knicks last time out (we had Charlotte in that one.) With a home and home set against Milwaukee, followed by games against Boston and at Golden State all on the horizon, we can expect the home side to push the pace of tonight's contest from start to finish. Which of course suits Toronto just fine. The Raptors have had two nights off since beating Sacramento 108-93 and they've now won nine of their last ten. But with a tough one tomorrow night in Philadelphia, we're also expecting the rested Raptors to come out "guns a blazing" this evening. All signs do indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this contest.
