This is a 10* SUPER TOTAL on the OVER between the Atlanta Hawks and the LA Lakers.
We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. This particular play is based primarily upon strong/relevant O/U ATS statistics and common sense:
As note that Atlanta has seen the total go OVER the number in 12 of its last 20 after falling to register 90 points in its previous outing (Hawks are off a 110-89 setback in Portland most recently), while LA has seen the total go OVER the number in seven of their nine after playing to nine or more straight consecutive losses (LA does indeed come in off nine straight setbacks, most recently a 108-94 loss at home to Charlotte.
The bottom line: Lonzo Ball returned for LA finally against the Hornets and while he wasn't particularly effective, we think he'll be much more prepared to lead the charge tonight. Atlanta ranks among the leagues worst in several defensive categories, so if ever there was a team to get untracked against, this is it. No more excuses for the Lakers, who will be looking to play their trade-mark run-and-gun style from start-to-finish in this one. All signs do indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this contest.
