Penny Hardaway was one of my favorite basketball players, but I'm far less enamored of him as a head coach. I don't see Hardaway's Memphis Tigers covering this road number against Florida Atlantic.
The Tigers are too undisciplined and rank 279th defensively giving up 75.4 points a game. Florida Atlantic is strong at home having won 11 in a row there while averaging more than 82 points and hitting 49 percent of their shots from the floor.
The 23-7 Owls have a better overall record and superior American Athletic Conference record than Memphis. The Tigers, though, nipped Florida Atlantic, 78-74, as 1 1/2-point home underdogs on Feb. 25.
Despite that upset loss, Florida Atlantic has won 12 of its last 15 games. I see the motivated Owls getting their short revenge on the Tigers, who are 2-4 SU and 1-5 ATS in their last six conference road games.
