This is an 8* play on the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Cardinals lost two of three to Pittsburgh over the weekend, but they still have the major league's best home record at 49-22. They host the Cubs today, and I like St. Louis with a pitching mismatch in it's favor.
Dan Haren will toe the slab for the visitors, and he's been a disappointment since coming over from Miami. Haren (8-9, 3.89 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on four hits over five innings at home against Cincinnati his last time out. He's 1-4 with a 5.35 ERA in his last nine starts, and he's 0-3 with a 5.98 ERA in his last three starts versus St. Louis.
The Cardinals hand the ball to Lance Lynn, who is almost always at his best in St. Louis. Lynn (11-8, 2.80 ERA) tossed seven scoreless innings in a win at Arizona his last time out. He's 6-4 with a 2.43 ERA at home this year, and 27-11 with a 2.81 ERA over the last three seasons.
Haren has given up 30 home runs this season, the most of any pitcher in the major leagues.
Take STL.
