The Southsiders are just a half a game back of Kansas City in the AL Central, and they are coming off a 5-0 win over the Angels in Game 2 of this series in the Windy City. The series is deadlocked at 1-1, and I like the Sox with their ace on the hill in the rubber match.
Chris Sale (3-0, 2.35 ERA) went the distance in a complete game shutout win over the Rays in Tampa his last time out. He allowed just two hits, while striking out nine batters in the victory. This looks like a great spot to back Sale, as he's owned the Angels going 3-0 with a 1.74 ERA in four starts against them over the last three seasons.
The Halos hand the ball to Garrett Richards, who is still looking for his first win of the season. Richards (0-2, 3.57 ERA) allowed just a pair of runs on four hits, fanning six in as many innings against the Twins his last time out, but the Halos lost by a score of 5-4. The right-hander has a losing record (6-8, 3.34 ERA) in day games over the last three seasons, and he's barely above .500 on the road during that span.
Jose Abreu is 4-for-6 with a home run and four RBIs lifetime versus Richards.
