Result: Win
This is an 8* play on the Detroit Tigers.

The Tigers have won three straight, including a win over Philly in Game 1 of this series in the Motor City. I like Detroit as a medium favorite in Game 2.

Justin Verlander will toe the slab for the Tigers, and he's coming off a couple of really impressive outings. Verlander (3-4, 4.58 ERA) allowed three runs on seven hits, striking out 10 in 7 1/3 innings in a win over the Twins his last time out. Prior to that he went eight innings, allowing one run on four hits with eight strikeouts in a tough luck loss to Baltimore.

The Phillies hand the ball to Jeremy Hellickson, who has won three straight. Hellickson (4-2, 3.99 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on five hits over six innings in a win over Miami his last time out. His recent run of success has come in a pair of wins over the Fish, and a home win against Cincinnati. He hasn't had much success against the Tigers, who are hitting a combined .319 with seven home runs over 95 at bats against him.

Only the Atlanta Braves have scored fewer runs than Philadelphia in the majors this season.

Take DET.
