Rogers' Game of the Week (10* NBA) >> 12-6 This Week!
(NBA) Indiana vs. Philadelphia, 11/11/2016 2:00 PM, Score: 105 - 109
Point Spread: -4.50 | -113.00 Indiana (Away)
Result: Loss
The set-up: One of the NBA's better offensive teams meets one of its worst, when the Indiana Pacers visit Philadelphia to take on the 76ers Friday night. Tonight's contest also represents the second game of a home-and-home set, as the Pacers won
a 122-115 overtime game against the 76ers Wednesday night back in Indiana. Philadelphia's three-pointer with 6.3 seconds gave the 76ers a 109-107 lead but Paul George made a baseline jumper with 3.9 seconds left to tie it. George then scored seven of his 28 points in OT to lift Indiana to a seven-point win.

Indiana: The Pacers made it to back-to-back Eastern Conference finals back in 2013 and 2014, led by a strong defense. However, this year's team ranks dead-last in both points allowed (113.2 PPG) and opponents FG percentage (47.7%). The Pacers make up for that with an offense scoring 110.3 PPG (3rd) on 47.6% shooting (4th). Indiana's biggest move over the summer was acquiring PG Jeff Teague from Atlanta and he put together his best performance so far for his hometown team on Wednesday, scoring 30 points on 10-of-16 shooting while adding nine assists and a pair of steals in the win. He's averaging 13.6 & 7.0 APG on the season for a team still led by Paul George (21.4-6.4-3.1). Turner, Miles and Young join George and Teague in averaging double digits with Monta Ellis (9.1) sure to join them when his shooting improves.

Philadelphia: The 76ers lost their first 17 games in 2014-15 and their first 18 last season. With the Pelicans winning last night, Philly owns the distinction of the NBA's lone winless team this season, at 0-7. What could be different by year's end this season is that Philadelphia owns an enviable amount of talent in the frontcourt. Embiid (13.6 & 7.) is building up his stamina and when all get healthy, Saric, Okafor and Noel will along with Embiid, form a talented core. There is also the veteran Ersan Ilyasova (12.8 PPG) providing some frontcourt toughness and perimeter touch. The team's real weakness is in the backcourt. Starting PG Sergio Rodriguez is 1-of-16 from three-point range in the last three games while backup T.J. McConnell is 0-of-8 from beyond the arc on the season. Philly ranks 29th in scoring (94.7 PPG) on 43.2% shooting, which ranks 25th.

The pick: Like with the Pelicans, the 76ers can't "lose ‘em all" but the fact of the matter is that Philadelphia has lost 44 straight October/November games dating back to an overtime victory over the Milwaukee Bucks back on Nov. 22, 2013. I'm making Indiana a 10* play.
