Excluding the 2015 Boca Raton Bowl when Jason Candle was the head coach for that game only, Toledo is 1-4 in their last 5 bowl games under Candle when he has coached the entire season. The Rockets 11-2 season looks good on paper but could have been much more, losing a winnable opening game to Illinois and dropping their MAC championship game against a Miami team that only completed six passes for 109 yards in the title game.
Toledo quarterback Dequan Finn is in the transfer portal and not expected to play in this game. On the other side this will be the final game for Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl who has won three of his last four bowl games.
Wyoming has faced the 78th rated strength of schedule this season, Toledo's just 128th.
