NIU's starting QB and leader Rocky Lombardi has not played since October 15. Without Lombardi the Huskies are 1-4 in the MAC, coming off a 24-21 win over a one-dimensional Western Michigan team that is a mess at QB. The Huskies are a mess at QB themselves and heavily rely on their run game. Miami, Ohio is first in the MAC holding opponents to just 3.5 yards per rush attempt, and 14th in the nation allowing just 3.3 yards per rush attempt on the road. Miami was favored over Ohio last week, and although they lost by 16, this line is an overreaction as they are better than this current NIU squad. At 3-7 NIU cannot become bowl-eligible and has another home game remaining for its seniors. Miami needs to win its last two games to become bowl-eligible which is possible. Expect Miami QB Brett Gabbert to lead the team to victory behind a stingy defensive effort.
